Remove SOE Limitation - Instructions

To remove this limitation you will need to be "observed" by a qualified PIC for a minimum of 25 hours, and they need to "attest in writing" that you met the requirements.

The rules for this limitation removal are governed by CFR 61.64(g).

Below you can find:

1. IACRA screenshots of 2 most critical parts of the application

2. Two sample letters of how people have shown the "attest" requirement.

Schedule Your Video Conference

We have available conference times 24/7, so we should be able to accommodate your schedule within 24 hours of receiving your paperwork!

 Fee: $80

1) Start your application by using "Administrative" then select the limitation you are having removed. If you have two or more SOE restrictions, you will not be able to use IACRA and you will need to complete this process via paper and in person.

2) Only indicate the number of hours you have logged as the PIC in this specific aircraft.

Only list the number of hours you were supervised.

25 minimum.

There are many ways that your "observer" can "attest in writing."

1) Simple logbook entries. Your normal logbook can be used as long as the person signing it is very clear that they attest to your flights.

2) A letter from the "observer" perspective can be used if one person performed all the training.

3) A letter from your perspective can be used if you fly with multiple different people.

THESE ARE JUST SAMPLES AND THERE ARE MANY WAYS THE REQUIREMENTS OF 14 CFR 61.64 CAN BE MET.

2. From the "observer" perspective. Sample download here.

3. From the "recipient" perspective.  Sample download here.
